Quick post, I need to shower, eat, and get some sleep.
Today at class it was just me, one other student and Sensei. He asked us what we wanted to work on and I decided on sanseiru bunkai, so we went through the kata for the bunkai, it was awesome; simple and effective stuff. While working on the bunkai I ended up asking questions about other things that came up, like on zenkutsu dachi, and why it doesn't work, and what he uses and why, a short zenkutsu dachi so you're body is in a better position. Later I should elaborate on the bunkai we worked on, so it stays fresh in my brain.

I was just thinking since I don't have much if any time to update my blog during my work days, which is when the dojo is open too, I should start writing in a notebook what I've been learning/working on in the dojo, throughout the day when I think of things and have a free moment here and there, and on the weekend too.

Since I started, it's been 'information overload' in the dojo. Simply too much, all connected, to write about cogently later. I've found that a notebook in the car helps...jotting down what I can remember of the particular bunkai/drills, what was said, my impressions, etc. are very useful later.
ReplyDeleteOh...and use pen. I discovered that after a few years pencil smudges, fades and becomes unreadable.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It certainly has been information overload for me!
